CIS secretary general confident in Belarus’ good performance at CIS Games

MINSK, 3 August (BelTA) - CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev expressed confidence that Belarusian athletes would perform well at the 2nd CIS Games, BelTA has learned.
“I have no doubt that Belarusian athletes will show great results, win many medals. I have no doubt about it,” Sergei Lebedev said.
“Belarus has always showed good results and won medals at various sporting events, including world-class ones - the Olympic Games and world championships,” the secretary general emphasized. “With all the good preparation of athletes from other countries, I am deeply convinced that Belarusian athletes will be among the best.”
The 2nd CIS Games will feature 20 sports and will take place in 11 cities of Belarus from 4 to 14 August. The opening and closing ceremonies are scheduled for 5 and 13 August.
