Brazilian journalist names Lukashenko one of greatest political leaders

MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – Aleksandr Lukashenko is one of the greatest political leaders of our times, Lucas Leiroz, a social science researcher at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and geopolitical consultant, said in a new episode of the Honest Story project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.

“I think Aleksandr Lukashenko is one of the greatest political leaders of our times. He has managed to make his country stable, safe, in a situation where all the circumstances were against it,” Lucas Leiroz said.

The expert added: “Belarus has suffered a regime change attempt. The West is still backing paramilitary neo-Nazi militias who are trained in NATO countries. Belarus has suffered some terrorist attacks by these militias.

Aleksandr Lukashenko has maintained his country safe and out of the conflicts which are happening now in the same region.”

“This is a kind of geopolitical and diplomatic expertise that a few political leaders have today. I think that most of political leaders in the world would have failed in these objectives if they had the same unpleasant conditions Aleksandr Lukashenko has had during these years. So his political expertise, his popularity and his capacity of taking tough and necessary decisions when they are needed make him, in my opinion, one of the greatest politicians of our era,” Lucas Leiroz said.
