Belarus, Kazakhstan urged to take new approaches to bilateral relations

MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) - Belarus and Kazakhstan need to take new approaches to the development of bilateral relations, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik said during the talks with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu in Minsk on 19 June, BelTA has learned.

Sergei Aleinik began the meeting with a Kazakh proverb: the road meets another road, bringing the people closer to another people. "I think that your visit is the best confirmation of this wisdom," Sergei Aleinik said.

According to him, the parties will be able to compare notes on promising areas of cooperation.

Last year, Belarus and Kazakhstan celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. "In a short period of time, we have laid a solid foundation for cooperation and built strong ties, including within the framework of integration associations such as the CIS, the CSTO, the EAEU and others. Our states are building the relations of strategic partnership," the minister said.

"Today’s realities require new approaches, greater cohesion and mutual support," Sergei Aleinik emphasized.
