Andreichenko to Turkish ambassador: Belarus is ready to help its friends in hard times

Andreichenko to Turkish ambassador: Belarus is ready to help its friends in hard times

MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – Belarus is always ready to lend a helping hand to its friends in difficult times, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Belarus Mustafa Özcan in Minsk on 3 March, BelTA has learned.

“A devastating earthquake has recently rocked Türkiye. On behalf of deputies of the House of Representatives, on my own behalf, I would like once again to express my deepest condolences in connection with the numerous victims and large-scale destruction caused by the earthquake. You know how the Republic of Belarus responded to it. We are always ready to lend a helping hand to our friends in difficult times,” said Vladimir Andreichenko.

Belarus and Türkiye are friendly nations, the speaker emphasized. “Our relations are developing consistently across a wide range of areas. Trade is growing: it exceeded $1 billion in 2021. The pace of our relations is set primarily by the presidents of our states. In July 2016 the president of the Republic of Belarus was one of the first who, without waiting for the reaction of other countries, expressed political support to Türkiye in connection with the military coup attempt in your country. The president of Türkiye was also one of the first foreign leaders to congratulate our president on his re-election on the first day after the presidential election in Belarus in August 2020. As you know, an exchange of visits took place after that,” Vladimir Andreichenko emphasized.
