TASHKENT, 25 April (BelTA) - Belarus has occupied stable positions in the food market of Uzbekistan, Belarusian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Leonid Marinich told the media on 25 April, BelTA has learned.

“Last year was very successful for us. The trade has soared almost five years in recent years. We have taken good sustainable positions in food supply. Our products are of high quality, they are in demand. Today we account for 82% of Uzbekistan's imports of meat products,” Leonid Marinich said.

He also took note of considerable progress in mechanical engineering. “MAZ has been working steadily. Joint productions have been opened. MTZ is also present on the market,” the ambassador added.

According to him, the two countries have also been developing cooperation pharmaceuticals. Further cooperation in light industry is also promising. The Marko company is implementing a joint footwear production project in Uzbekistan.

“We are working and moving forward. We are steadily increasing cooperation and opening joint companies. I think that this pace will be maintained in the coming years,” Leonid Marinich said.
