MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – Zabor art project has returned to the Belarusian capital following a two-year travel around the country. Its exposition has opened at the National Art Museum, BelTA has learned.
The month-long expo will feature the works of 11 contemporary Belarusian painters who represent the capital and all Belarusian regions. The project is aimed at getting the wide audience familiar with the work of local artists. Every oblast held a competition for the best painter. The winners are taking part in the final exhibition at the National Art Museum. The art project has earlier been displayed in Warsaw.
According to Director of Zabor art project Antonina Serakova, the exposition features naive art, abstractions from a Vitebsk painter, and surrealistic etchings. “During the work on the exposition we used installations and multimedia technologies to create a pleasant atmosphere for every exhibit. We hope such an approach will help the visitors become closer to the modern art,” Antonina Serakova added.
The exhibition will include a series of interactive excursions for children aged 5-12. Children will paint, mould, play and solve puzzles. Excursions will be held every Saturday at 14.00.
The art project will also comprise lectures, film shows, master classes and other events. The exhibition Zabor at the National Art Museum will last through 3 October. After that the expo will travel to Paris.
Zabor art project was launched in July 2012 when the fence around the Chelyuskintsev Park was decorated with art reproductions. Over the two years the project has been showcased in every oblast of Belarus.
