MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) - Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Treat Huey of the Philippines reached the semifinal of the Barcelona Open in Spain, BelTA has learned.

In the quarterfinal of the men’s doubles event the Belarusian-Filipino duo beat Rohan Bopanna of India and Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. In the semis Max Mirnyi and Treat Huey will face Bob and Mike Bryan of the United States. In the opener the Belarusian-Filipino duo fought through Robert Lindstedt of Sweden and Alexander Peya of Austria 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 10-7.

At the tournament in Romania’s Bucharest Alexander Bury of Belarus and Nicholas Monroe of the United States lost to the Mexican-Polish duet of Santiago Gonzalez and Mariusz Fyrstenberg 5-7, 1-6 in the opening round.

The competitions in Barcelona and Bucharest will be over on Sunday, 24 April.
