Minsk National Airport plans to introduce AI into security systems

MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) - Minsk National Airport plans to introduce artificial intelligence into its security systems, the airport press service told BelTA following a meeting between Director of Minsk National Airport Vladimir Chereukhin and Yang Bo, Assistant President of Nuctech Company Limited and GM of the Asia & CIS Regional Center.

The parties discussed the prospects of using AI technologies in the operation of screening equipment and the introduction of the Chinese company’s advanced developments in the field of aviation security. Current partnership issues, including the implementation of previously reached agreements, were also reviewed.

The guests were shown the operation of two screening equipment systems supplied by Nuctech in 2024. Special attention was paid to the ICAO Aviation Security Training Center, a structural unit of Minsk National Airport: discussions focused on its development and equipping it with modern simulators for training specialists in the operation of screening equipment.

The press service noted that Minsk National Airport and Nuctech have a long-standing mutually beneficial partnership.

“Passenger safety is our top priority. The introduction of artificial intelligence and Nuctech’s cutting-edge technologies into screening processes and personnel training on modern simulators allows us to raise security standards to a qualitatively new level, in line with the best global practices,” Vladimir Chereukhin said.
