International cyber festival TECHLABS CUP BY 2013 to begin in Belarus on 19 April

MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – The international cyber festival TECHLABS CUP BY 2013 will begin in Belarus on 19 April. The information was released by Igor Buzovsky, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the public association Belarusian Republican Youth Union, Deputy Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture, and Social Development Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, at the press conference on 17 April, BelTA has learned.

TECHLABS CUP BY 2013 is the Belarusian season of Eastern Europe’s largest IT competition TECHLABS CUP. The competitions are held in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan and attract dozens of thousands of spectators and millions of Internet viewers for more than five years.

The cyber festival includes cyber sports (competitions in computer games), overclocking (competitions for accelerating computer systems, exploitation of undocumented capabilities of computer systems, and the achievement of top performance) and competitions in radio-controlled models. Elimination competitions will be held online among the best players of computer games Counter-Strike, DOTA II, World of Tanks, StarCraft II and computer enthusiasts aged 18-35. By the way, a tournament in the game Shadow Company will be held for the first time in Belarus.

The final game of the Belarusian season will take place in Minsk on 18 May. World Champions in the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are expected to arrive for the final game. TECHLABS CUP BY 2013 is organized by the cyber sports portal Techlabs.pro and the public association Belarusian Republican Youth Union.

Apart from the Minsk season cyber seasons will be also held in Kyiv and Almaty. The Moscow cyber festival named winners in March. In autumn Minsk will welcome the grand finals – a competition between the best players of the four seasons for the TECHLABS CUP.

In 2012 in the four countries the international cyber festival TECHLABS CUP gathered more than 10,000 participants in 35,000 spectators as well as over 1 million online fans.
