GOMEL, 30 August (BelTA) – The 7th international choreography festival Sozhski Karagod will take place in Gomel on 13-15 September, BelTA learnt from the organizing committee of the event.

The forum will have an eventful program, with the first competition among mime theaters under its auspices. By tradition the city of Gomel will gather fireshow theaters as well as the participants of the international sports ballroom dance tournament, the Golden Lynx Cup.

Gomel residents and guests will have an opportunity to enjoy the performance of the folk dance company Khoroshki, Belarus’ national dance ensemble, dance companies of Kazakhstan, India and others.

The competition program of the festival will have three nominations: Modern Choreography, Folk Dance, and Popular Dance. Partaking in the festival will be dance companies from the U.S., Baltic states, Serbia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia and other CIS and non-CIS countries. The international panel of judges will be led by Belarus People’s Artist, Art Director and Chief Choreographer of the folk dance company Khoroshki Valentina Gayevaya.

The official opening ceremony of the festival will take place at the Tsentralny stadium on 14 September. Partaking in the show will be more than 2,300 people.
