Belarusian Music Autumn festival draws participants from seven countries

MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) - Artists from seven countries will gather for the 39th international art festival "Belarusian Music Autumn" on 15 October-3 November, Merited Artist of Belarus, artistic director of the Philharmonic Yuri Gildiuk told a press conference on 14 October, BelTA learned.

The festival will open with a symphony concert. The State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Belarus conducted by People's Artist of Belarus Alexander Anisimov will perform the classics and the new works of Belarusian composers.

A Concerto for Clavier and Orchestra by Viktor Kopytko will get its maiden performance. The soloist will be the pianist and composer from St. Petersburg Nastasya Khrushcheva Another premiere will be a performance of Symphony No. 5 by Vyacheslav Kuznetsov. The evening concert will be crowned with Symphony No. 5 in e minor by Piotr Tchaikovsky.

All in all, the program of the festival features 23 concerts. According to Yuri Gildiuk, music lovers will enjoy the diversity of genres. The audience will hear the concerts in tribute to the 25th anniversary of the Belarusian State Chamber Choir and Ensemble of Soloists led by Igor Ivanov, performances by world famous pianists from Belarus Andrei Ponochevny (Belarus-United States), Vital Stakhievitch (Belarus-Netherlands), Evgeny Mikhailov (Russia), Wlodek Pawlik (Poland). The playbill also features the Lithuanian ensemble Subtilu-Z, renowned for its style incorporating classical music, jazz, rock, country and rock and roll. In addition, Belarusian pop stars will sing the songs of two famous composers Igor Luchenok and Eduard Khanok. Belarusian-Polish musical meetings will be arranged as part of the festival. According to Yuri Gilduk, the main task of the philharmonic is to show the national performance and composition traditions.

The 39th edition of Belarusian Music Autumn will be held with the financial support of the Culture Ministry of Belarus. General partner is Bank BelVEB.
