ZHODINO, 23 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ has made its anniversary haul truck number 5,000. A solemn ceremony to celebrate the milestone took place at premises of the enterprise, BelTA has learned.

A BelAZ haul truck with the carrying capacity of 130-136 tonnes solemnly rolled off the assembly line of the shop for assembling and testing of vehicles and tractor trucks. The milestone model has already found a buyer and will soon be shipped to Russia.

Sergei Nikiforovich, Director General of OAO BelAZ – managing company of the holding company BelAZ, noted during the solemn event that the production of the 5,000th haul truck indicates that this model enjoys strong demand. “These haul trucks are used nearly on every continent and demonstrate their effectiveness for mining operations. The haul truck was successfully developed back in the day. Our enterprise confidently stands on its feet and is optimistic about the future,” the executive said.

According to the director general, this year the company has started naming haul trucks after prominent individuals, who have dedicated their entire lives to the factory. The milestone truck is named after Dmitry Ivanovich Syrokvash, who ran the enterprise from 1979 through 1992. This man was fully devoted to the enterprise and oversaw its creation, Sergei Nikiforovich added.

7513 series haul trucks with the carrying capacity of 130 tonnes are BelAZ’s signature product. They are some of the most popular haul trucks for mining operations. They are designed to operate in complicated open-pit mining environments as much as possible. The BelAZ 7513 series now includes nine models and over 140 modifications. In the last five years the company shipped BelAZ 7513 series trucks to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mongolia, and India.

BelAZ designers have created a robotized haul truck BelAZ 7513R on the basis of the 130-tonne truck. The unmanned vehicle can operate in command mode, remote control mode or autonomous mode as part of robotized mining operations.
