Belarus’ Ilya Solovyov earns first assist point in NHL

MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – The Calgary Flames defenceman Ilya Solovyov of Belarus earned his first assist point in the National Hockey League, BelTA has learned.

The Calgary Flames hosted the Minessota Wild on Wednesday, with Ilya Solovyov playing his third match in the NHL current season. The Belarusian assisted forward Connor Zary late in the opening period. The goal however did not help the team as they lost 2-5. Ilya Solovyov spent 14 and a half minutes on the ice and produced three shots on goal.

Yegor Sharangovich of Belarus also played for the Flames on Wednesday. He skated 18 and a half minutes and made three shots on goal. With 25 matches played Yegor Sharangovich goes with 11 (5+6) points. 

The Calgary Flames sit 10th in the Eastern Conference with 23 points. The team will next face the Carolina Hurricanes on 8 December.
