Belarus History Museum to host holography art expo

MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – The exhibition, Holography 2014. Minsk, will open at the National History Museum of Belarus on 25 April, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Minsk City Hall.

The expo will feature the best holographic works of Belarusian companies Magiya Sveta and Holographic Industry. Every visitor will have a chance to see every minute detail of the holographic copies of the Cross of Euphrosyne of Polotsk, the Zhirovichi Icon of the Mother of God, the Gifts of the Magi. The expo will display a well-known series of holograms “Treasures of the Belarusian Land” created jointly with the National History Museum of Belarus.

The exhibition will run through 6 July. Among its organizers is the National History Museum of Belarus under the auspices of the Minsk City Hall, the National Olympic Committee, the National Academy of Sciences, Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, a religious community and Belarusian State University.

Holographic technology allows recreating 3D images of physical objects impressing with its reality and accuracy.

Holography art exhibitions were first held in 1978. The first All-Union Exhibition Holography-78 was a big success in Minsk. It was a starting point for many exhibitions of the Soviet holography which toured 17 countries gaining more and more popularity. The founder of holography art in Belarus is academician of the International Academy of Engineering, Belarus State Award holder Leonid Tanin.
