Another gold for Ukraine at Raubichi

MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) – Yulia Zhuravok of Ukraine won the 12.5km Junior Women Individual event on the second day of the ongoing 2015 IBU Youth/Junior World Championships in Raubichi, BelTA has learned.

Yulia Zhuravok of Ukraine won the 12.5km Junior Women Individual event The clean-shooting Ukrainian sealed the victory in 37:54.1, just 0.2 seconds ahead of silver medalist Kinga Mitoraj of Poland, also shooting clean. Bronze went to Kazakhstan’s Galina Vishnevskaya, 30:1 seconds back, with one penalty. Ukraine has bagged its second gold medal of the competitions. A day earlier Anna Kryvonos won the 10km Youth Women Individual competition for Ukraine.

Winners of the 12.5km Junior Women Individual event As for Belarusian biathletes, Anastasia Kunets missed two targets to finish 21st, 3:58.8 behind the winning time. Her teammate Tatiana Trifonova was 41st, 7:50.9 back, with seven penalties, Svetlana Markovskaya was 48th (9:41.8; 7), Yevgenia Yakovleva – 52nd (10:09;8).
