International Forum TIBO 2018 in Minsk

5G mobile communication, Smart Home technology, holographic display and more than 90  R&D and innovative products were showcased at TIBO 2018, one of the largest exhibitions in telecommunications and software in the CIS and Baltic countries. More than 100 companies from 15 countries took part in the 25th installment of the international expo TIBO which relocated to Minsk Arena.

The main theme of the international forum was the strategy of comprehensive digital transformation of society, which acquired particular relevance after the Belarusian president signed ordinance No.8 on digital economy. IT Country Belarus, the central exposition at TIBO, focused on innovative developments and their use in such areas as education, healthcare, public safety, agriculture, and transportation.

It showcased the products made by resident companies of the Hi-Tech Park and Belarusian developers who made a namde in the international IT-market: interactive sensory LED panel Newline, the computer game World of Tanks, Hypervsn displaying 3D images, virtual reality suit Teslasuit, cloud platform KIPOD Safe City for public security monitoring, the medical implant Narcine for neural stimulation using electricity…

The new products that drew the biggest interest among visitors were the multiple-layer system for the remote sensing of Earth and the Google Maps analog, a CubeSat-based nanosatellite, and a smart autonomous mobile robot PocketBot. Among the products applicable in everyday life were the smart card (digital student card), the service to accept payments via QR code, 5G mobile communication, an automatic system to recognize lung sounds and identify specific diseases as a result (Lung Passport)...

The ceremony to honor the winners of Belarus ICT Start-Up Awards was held for the second time. The contest gives an opportunity to young scientists to present their project and, most importantly, get an expert evaluation and support from business. The finalists and winners of the 100 Ideas for Belarus contest and participants of the semi-finals of the competition of innovative projects “Eurasian Digital Platforms” presented their works as well.
