Established by the famous chancellor of the Great Duchy of Lithuania Lew Sapieha, Ruzhany Palace occupies a special place in the history of Belarus. It was one of the largest noble-family residences of the 16-18th centuries, a center of political life where events of national importance unfolded. The palace remains one of Belarus’ most interesting places of interest today. As of January 2018 Ruzhany Palace is part of the tourism and recreation zone Brest. Citizens of dozens of countries can visit the place without visas as part of the ten-day visa-free travel program.
