International festival of ethnic and cultural traditions Zov Polesya 2016

The international festival of ethnic and cultural traditions Zov Polesya (Polesye Calling) was traditionally held in the agro-town Lyaskovichi, Petrikov District on 24 September. The 4th edition of the festival brought together artists, masters and craftsmen from six countries, including Gomel Oblast and Brest Oblast of Belarus.

The festival, in fact, was turned into a big village with the national pavilions representing different Polesye regions of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. Guests of the festival had an opportunity to get acquainted with the unique culture of the nations, their holidays, rites and culinary traditions.

The festival concluded with a concert featuring professional and amateur music groups, vocal and dance companies Luziar (Moldova), Siverskiye Kleynody (Ukraine), Zemerwa (Poland), Diamedis (Lithuania), Nadzeya of Bryansk Regional Philharmonic (Russia)…

The festival of young artists Perazvon Talentau was held for the first time as part of the main program. Its participants were children who have unique skills in folk arts and crafts. In the context of globalization such events show the identity of the Belarusian culture, Belarusian Culture Minister Boris Svetlov said.
