Presentation of the most important achievements of Belarusian science and projects for the future, heated discussions about the global trends and international cooperation, ideas to inspire young people into science… The Second Congress of Scientists opened in Minsk ten years after the first one, which was by right the pinnacle event of the Year of Science.

The forum brought together around 2,600 participants from all over the country and more than 500 invited foreign colleagues. Belarus has agreements on cooperation in science and technology with 46 states and annually conducts more than 900 mutually beneficial joint projects.

On the first day of the congress scientists discussed the key issues of the development of science in nine panel sessions: “Physics and informatics in technologies of the future”, “Engineering and industrial technology sciences aka Industry 4.0”, “Modern chemistry and rational nature management”, “Modern biotechnologies”, “Medical and pharmaceutical sciences”, “Domestic humanitaristics”, “Innovative agribusiness solutions”, “Young scientists and new horizons of science”, “International scientific cooperation”. Several venues hosted the exhibitions of achievements that the domestic science can be proud of.

On 13 December, the delegates gathered at the Palace of the Republic for a large plenary session with the participation of the President of the Republic of Belarus. The key items on the agenda are the results of the development of science in Belarus and the outgoing themed year and the draft strategy “Science and technology: 2018-2040” which will shape the plans for the next two decades. Full digitalization of economy, bringing the industry to a new level (robotics), improvement of food quality and food safety the science of the future promises to be breakthrough, interesting and really useful! Headlined as “Intellectual Belarus” the thematic exhibition features eight  clusters related to the country's priorities and key research developments that Belarus makes an emphasis on. Among them is a personal supercomputer, electric car, electric bike, drones, solar cells, intelligent threads for the light industry ...
