Astana Expo 2017, which is running in the Kazakhstan capital from 9 June to 10 September, has gathered representatives from more than 110 countries. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko attended the opening ceremony. On the launch day, the heads of state and government met with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, visited the National Pavilion of the host country, and the Energy of the Future exposition, the title of which is consonant with the main theme of Astana Expo 2017

Belarus’ National Pavilion opened its doors to visitors on 10 June. According to the curators, this year’s Belarus national pavilion is highly interactive and is in tune with the ongoing Year of Science. Visitors are welcomed with bread and salt and the famous Lyavonikha folk dance, and are invited to see more than 50 high-tech solutions from Belarus. Among them are an eco-friendly electro-bus, LED installations, medical laser, advanced space technologies. In the center of the pavilion, there is a presentation of the industrial park Great Stone which showcases the opportunities for potential investors. The main accents are the energy of the hardworking Belarusian people, modern technology and picturesque nature, which probably is one of the main treasures of Belarus. The pavilion also features the exhibition "From Lisbon via Minsk, Moscow, Astana to Vladivostok" with paintings by contemporary artists from 25 countries.

One of the first distinguished guests who visited the pavilion was Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who showed interest in souvenirs and colorful embroidered shirts called vyshyvanka. The Day of Belarus at Astana Expo 2017 is scheduled for 13 August. Meanwhile visitors of the expo can take an interactive journey around the pavilion and learn more about the scientific potential of modern Belarus. Visitors can get more information about each of the projects on interactive displays, download it to their mobile device or email it.
