Lukashenko urges to develop practical dimension of Belarus-India relations

NEW DELHI, 12 September (BelTA) – Belarus and India have already determined the philosophy of relations, now it is essential to develop the practical dimension, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with India Vice President Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi on 12 September, BelTA has learned.

“Today we should use the language of well-prepared contracts rather than discuss the avenues of the economies’ development. We have already determined these avenues and the philosophy of our relations. Now we should develop the practical dimension which relies on contracts and investments,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.

The vice president of India, in turn, extended a warm welcome to the Belarusian head of state. He remarked that Belarus and India have established good relations at the interstate level and between the peoples of the two countries. India is also grateful for Belarus’ support at various international platforms.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu“I think that there are great prospects for expanding cooperation in the trade and economic fields,” Venkaiah Naidu said. In this regard he said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi many initiatives are implemented, reforms and transformations take place in India. It also facilitates active cooperation between the two countries in various fields, opens up investment prospects.

“We are also developing the healthcare industry, medical tourism. This is another area where we can cooperate,” the vice president added.

Belarus-India: Trade and Economic CooperationHe stressed that India is glad to welcome the Belarusian leader and expressed confidence that the talks at various levels will give a good impetus to the bilateral relations and will help promote them to a brand-new level.
