Igor Boki sets five world records at IDM Berlin 2018

MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Paralympian Igor Boki has set five world records at IDM Berlin 2018, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Swimming Federation.

The Belarusian set a world record in two S13 disciplines. He clocked 2:09.8 in the men’s 200m backstroke and 1:52.40 in the 200m freestyle. The Belarusian improved the world time among Paralympians to 26.36 seconds in the men’ 50m backstroke qualifying and surpassed it in the final (26.21 seconds).

The Belarusian swimmer took the victory in the men’s 200m butterfly in 2:04.06.

“I know the swimming pool in Berlin very well. There are good conditions here which help reach great results,” the swimmer said.

Igor Boki is 11-time Paralympic champion, many-time world and European champion.

Competing for medals at IDM Berlin 2018 were 550 athletes from more than 50 countries.
