Complex of buildings of Belarusian embassy officially opened in Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT, 30 March (BelTA) – A complex of buildings of the Belarusian embassy has been officially opened in Turkmenistan. A symbolic ribbon was cut by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, BelTA has learned.

“The construction of the buildings of the embassy confirms the strategic character of our partnership, it is a symbol of the time-tested friendship of the Belarusian and Turkmen people which we value so much,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

Complex of buildings of Belarusian embassy officially opened in TurkmenistanThe official ceremony was attended by members of official delegations, representatives of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan. The program of the event included a performance of the children’s dance company. Besides, four musicians in national costumes played Belarusian national music.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Turkmenistan Oleg Tabanyukhov informed the presidents about the arrangement of the administrative building of the embassy and its territory.

Complex of buildings of Belarusian embassy officially opened in TurkmenistanIt is symbolic that about a year ago Alexander Lukashenko and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow took part in the opening of a complex of buildings of the Turkmenistan embassy in Belarus. Such events mean a lot in the diplomatic world.

Belarus and Turkmenistan provided land plots in their capital cities to each other for the construction of the embassies in accordance with the intergovernmental agreement signed in April 2011. The Belarusian side got a land plot with the total area of 0.73 hectares in the southern part of Ashgabat. The complex of buildings includes a two-storeyed administrative building, a residential house with eight apartments for the personnel of the embassy, a garage and a parking place, engineering and technical buildings.
