MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Belarus views Vietnam as a firm base for securing the grasp on Southeast Asia. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the relevant statement during the opening ceremony of the Belarusian-Vietnamese business forum on 27 June, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Lukashenko said: “We seriously consider Vietnam as a firm base for securing our grasp on Southeast Asia and for jointly pushing our products and services to ASEAN countries.”
In order to establish tighter cooperation between the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the business associations of Vietnam Alexander Lukashenko suggested setting up a joint business council, which will take care of routine organizational matters and practical work.
Alexander Lukashenko wished productive work, fruitful negotiations, and successful commercial agreements to participants of the forum.
The forum gathered about 200 people, with half of the number representing Vietnam’s business circles. During the forum the Belarusian side presented its export and industrial potentials. Available opportunities for doing business in view of the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam were highlighted.
