According to Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina, the number of valid signatures collected in support of Sergei Gaidukevich (over 139,000) is sufficient for his registration as a candidate. "However, we were informed that the income and property statements had minor errors," she said.

Thus, according to the inspection bodies, in 2014 Sergei Gaidukevich pointed the income he received from one of the limited liability companies in the amount of almost Br36 million, while it was more Br41 million. In addition, the politician forgot to specify the income of €60 he received from abroad. "Sergei Gaidukevich’s total income in 2014 was Br263,158,000 and the amount of unspecified income was about Br6.2 million (2.3% of the amount of annual income)," noted Lidia Yermoshina.

Moreover, she said, his spouse made an error when filling out the income statement - she specified net income, not the aggregate one.

Lidia Yermoshina noted that when appointing the election the Central Election Commission ruled that if the error in the income statement is less than 20%, it will be recognized as minor and the person will be registered as a presidential candidate. "In this regard, Sergei Gaidukevich’s error was recognized as minor. Under these circumstances, the Central Election Commission decided to register Sergei Gaidukevich as a candidate for Presidency in Belarus," she said.

Sergei Gaidukevich was issued the certificate of the presidential candidate. He thanked the Belarusian citizens who signed for him.
