Renovated air terminal at Minsk National Airport

The renovation of the air terminal at Minsk National Airport is about to complete. Its area has added 9,000 square meters, with the width of the international sector now meeting all contemporary standards. The arrival lounge, the waiting room, the departure lounge, the VIP lounge, the restaurant and the cafe were all refurbished. Escalators and comfortable elevators were installed and the cutting-edge equipment is now being tested. The building is now barrier-free. An automatic baggage handling system will soon be commissioned at the air terminal. The single check-in area will have 44 desks instead of 26 as was before. All these desks will be equipped with an electronic check-in system. The VIP lounge features a recreational area, with Wi-Fi, a cafe with a rich menu. VIP passengers will undergo individual passport control and check-in. Their baggage will be handled separately and they will be welcomed near the boarding ramp. The airport is also going to open a spotting bar located 12m above the ground. Planes taking off from National Airport Minsk can be photographed from there. After the renovation of the air terminal, which will have concluded by May 2014, the Minsk airport will be able to increase passenger traffic twofold, up to 6 million per year. The modernization of the airport, including the construction of the second runway, will continue. Video
