MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) –China adheres to the policy of building mutually beneficial cooperation with Belarus. The statement was made by Zhang Gaoli, First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, during the ceremony held on 27 September to open the Beijing Hotel in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
Zhang Gaoli remarked that Belarusian-Chinese friendship has no borders and relations between the two countries advance all the time. “At present China is Belarus’ largest trade partner in Asia while Belarus is one of the partners, with which we implement a large number of joint projects in the Euro-Asian space. The Chinese side adheres to the policy of friendly relations, the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Belarus. We will constantly encourage it,” he said.
Speaking about the Beijing Hotel, Zhang Gaoli remarked that the hotel was one of the examples of successful cooperation. Other joint projects are being implemented as well. The number includes the car manufacturing joint venture SZAO BelGee, the China-Belarus Industrial Park. “Our interests coincide in many areas. Thanks to joint efforts we will be able to implement even more big projects,” he was convinced.
In turn, Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich spoke briefly about the history of the project to build the Beijing Hotel that had been operational for several months before the opening ceremony.
The Prime Minister assured that Belarus will continue enabling conditions for the successful operation of Chinese facilities.
The delegation led by Zhang Gaoli, First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China arrived in Belarus on 26 September for a three-day visit. The broad spectrum of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation will be discussed during meetings and negotiations in Minsk.
