ULAANBAATAR, 4 September (BelTA) – The Mongolian market is of great interest for Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China with concurrent accreditation in Mongolia Viktor Burya told media on 4 September.

BelTA has learned that positive dynamics in Mongolia’s development has been observed in recent years. “Avenues that our country may need are being determined. This is why today our delegation is represented not only by government officials but also representatives of business circles and commercial organizations of Belarus,” he said.

Speaking about the most interesting avenues for the development of the bilateral relations, Viktor Burya noted that their range is very wide: “Mining industry, enterprises to assemble industrial, agricultural, and utility vehicles”. According to the diplomat, Mongolia may also be interested in personnel training that will accompany all these processes. “Every year Mongolia has over 10,000 students trained abroad while we have 20,000 trained. However, not very many Mongolian students study in Belarus for now. I think the figure will increase in the future,” said the Ambassador.

Viktor Burya mentioned the establishment of a powerful manufacturing division of OAO BelAZ that in the future should evolve into a branched chain to service BelAZ mining vehicles. “We also present a MAZ bus at the expo in Mongolia while simultaneously negotiating the organization of bus assembly here for municipal needs,” added the Ambassador. In his words, a lot of attention is paid to agricultural mechanical engineering. While Belarus used to sell only standard tractors in Mongolia, now the sides talk about powerful tractors with the entire range of trailed equipment for soil cultivation, sowing, and other purposes. Apart from that, the possibility of building a poultry factory in Mongolia is being discussed. “It is quite a live project that has evoked interest,” noted Viktor Burya. He added that it was not the complete list of projects the sides had discussed within the framework of the Belarusian delegation visit.

According to the diplomat, the sides also plan to hold negotiations with representatives of the Ulaanbaatar city administration to discuss city electric transport: “We have good groundwork here, we can be interesting partners”.

“The container train Mongolian vector is another project that goes along well,” noted the Ambassador. “Last year the volume of transportation virtually doubled. The matter is rather important for landlocked Mongolia because unlike us they have only one way to access the sea. Virtually all the merchandise leaves Mongolia via Chinese ports, which workload is quite high and can be aggravated by healthy monopolism. We can offer opportunities of working with ports of Lithuania, Latvia, Kaliningrad Oblast, new Russian ports, therefore the variability is essentially larger and possible economic advantages can be higher”.
