MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – Belarus is now recognized by the United Arab Emirates as a kind friend and a reliable partner. Belarus is no longer a distant foreign country. The opinion was voiced by Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Mr Valentin Rybakov on 28 March, BelTA has learned.

Valentin Rybakov remarked that the present visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to the UAE is the third visit to that country. “It was the final part of the Belarus President’s visit to the partner states of the so-called far arc in Southeastern Asia and in the Middle East, the final chord after the visits to Indonesia and Singapore. While visits to Indonesia and Singapore took a long time to prepare because Belarus is a new and unknown partner for the countries, the visit to the UAE was prepared within a record short time. It confirms the importance of the chosen way, the availability of friendly, trusting, and constructive mutual relations between the leadership of the two countries,” said the Deputy Foreign Minister.

According to Valentin Rybakov, the Belarusian head of state’s meetings with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan demonstrated the mutual interest of the sides in bolstering cooperation in key economic spheres as well as in military technology sphere.

Valentin Rybakov noted that the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi had instructed the UAE government to prepare proposals soon regarding the most topical avenues of cooperation with Belarus for the sake of implementing joint mutually beneficial projects.
