NEW YORK, 24 September (BelTA) - UNDP Administrator Helen Clark praised the role Belarus played in the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict and expressed gratitude for the help the country provided to Ukrainian refugees. She made the statement in New York as she met with Belarusian Premier Mikhail Myasnikovich, BelTA has learned.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the productive cooperation and agreed to continue the implementation of UNDP programs and projects in Belarus in line with the national development priorities. The sides agreed on the need to continue the international Chernobyl cooperation under the UNDP coordinating role. Helen Clark expressed gratitude for the organization of her visit to Belarus in May 2014 and confirmed that every agreement reached during the visit would be implemented.
Helen Clark also stressed that she is an active advocate of promoting Belarus’ interests in relations with other countries and organizations, including the WTO.
