Tim McIntosh: Belarus can be a successful partner for European investors

MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) - Belarus can be a successful partner for European investors, Mr Tim McIntosh, a representative of Nova International Management Ltd, told BelTA. The British businessman is in Belarus for the 7th Belarus Investment Forum.

A formal agreement on cooperation between Culligan, Nova International Management and the Belarusian partners is expected to be signed on 16 November, within the framework of Belarus Investment Forum. The parties are going to start the production of water treatment equipment for medicine, industry, housing and utilities services.

“By joint projects we intend to show that Belarus can be a successful partner for European investors. I am very proud and happy that our company has an opportunity to take part in the implementation of the investment project in Belarus. The key point in the decision to invest in water treatment in Belarus was the fact that such a prestigious international company like Culligan chose Belarus as a partner for a project to manufacture its products. This shows their positive attitude to the business opportunities in your country. Although Culligan is a global company, they operate production facilities in just a few countries, with Belarus now among them,” Mr Tim McIntosh said.

According to Mr Tim McIntosh, the next important step is to find full understanding on all issues of cooperation with local authorities, ministries and government bodies to ensure the successful implementation of the investment project. “This example will help build good business relations in the future and will show other European investors that Belarus can be a successful partner to carry out projects in various sectors of the economy,” said the British businessman.

Mr Tim Mcintosh promised that Nova International Management Ltd will closely monitor the development of its first such a large-scale investment project in Belarus, and will explore new opportunities for cooperation.

Tim McIntosh is a businessman, a representative of the new investment company Nova International Management, head of Anglo Belarus Corporation LLP, and Olympic attache of the Belarusian delegation at the Olympic Games in London. He actively works to raise investment in Belarus and invests in the country himself. In particular, he has become one of the investors in the project to open a Culligan water treatment equipment manufacturing facility in Belarus.

The British businessman is engaged in various lines of business, and plans to implement projects in other areas. “We are looking for an opportunity to implement unique projects that would help change the perception of the country abroad. But for now we will be focusing on one project, and gradually involve in others,” said Mr Tim McIntosh.

Culligan International is a world leader in the design, manufacture and maintenance of water treatment equipment and operates in more than 100 countries around the world. Culligan holds a 42% share of the international market of water treatment equipment in the fields of ecology, electronics, food processing, sports, energy, and medicine.
