MINSK, 13 October (BelTA) - Sverdlovsk Oblast would like to step up cooperation with Belarus in all areas, Governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast Yevgeny Kuivashev said as he met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, BelTA has learned.

Yevgeny Kuivashev stressed that one of the priorities of the interregional cooperation of Sverdlovsk Oblast is the contacts with the CIS countries. "Although Belarus is thousands of kilometers away from us, we are united by the desire to live and work together," said the Governor.

On 14 October the Business Cooperation Council of Belarus and Sverdlovsk Oblast will review the current state of affairs, and outline the activities for the future. The Governor noted that 94 people on the delegation of Sverdlovsk Oblast represent different sectors, which means that the agreements will cover not only the economy but also other areas.
