Snopkov: Paris presentation confirms mutual interest of Belarus and France in long-term projects

PARIS, 6 June (BelTA) - Presentation of the Belarusian economy in France confirms the mutual interest in long-term projects, Belarusian Economy Minister Nikolai Snopkov told the media following the presentation of Belarus’ economy and investment opportunities which was held in the MEDEF headquarters in Paris.

“Belarus is open to foreign investors. We were able to convey this message to the French side. The head of the MEDEF has announced his intention to come on a visit to Belarus,” Nikolai Snopkov said.

The French companies operating in Belarus are happy with business doing environment. According to Nikolai Snopkov, at the investment forum the French entrepreneurs expressed the opinion that the efficiency of investments in Belarus is much higher compared to other post-Soviet countries.

The Economy Minister also stressed that the meeting and talks confirmed mutual interest in long-term projects, including high-tech projects. "Some of the projects can be jointly financed by the state and French business,” said Nikolai Snopkov

Among the most interesting and promising areas for joint cooperation are automotive industry, new materials, microbiology, new technologies in agriculture, precision engineering, the Minister added.

“We have not talked about trade between Belarus and France. We have talked about joint business, about business in Belarus, about the advantages of Belarus,” emphasized the Minister.
