MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Indonesia are determined to seek new forms of cooperation, Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Valentin Rybakov told journalists during a reception held on 19 December to mark the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries, BelTA has learnt.
Valentin Rybakov emphasized the importance of strengthening Belarus-Indonesia ties in all fields: politics, trade and economy, science and technology, culture, and society. “We will do our level best to use the cooperation potential with Indonesia which carries great weight in the region to the utmost,” he said.
Today the two countries are implementing and working on a number of projects of bilateral cooperation. In particular, Belarus supplies machinery, including equipment for metal mining industry, to Indonesia. “We will work not only on the implementation of the agreements that have already been signed, but also on the development of new forms of cooperation,” Valentin Rybakov noted.
The Belarusian official emphasized that the bilateral ties are not limited to cooperation in trade and economy. Belarus and Indonesia are eager to develop humanitarian, sports, and tourism ties. Valentin Rybakov was also pleased to note that the two countries have been closely cooperating in various international organizations.
“A large geographical distance between our countries has never been and, I hope, will never be an obstacle to our friendship and cooperation,” Valentin Rybakov said.
