VITEBSK, 10 July (BelTA) - The International Festival of Arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk helps bring to life innovative and creative ideas and projects in the field of humanitarian cooperation, reads the letter of greetings to the participants and spectators of the 23rd International Festival of Arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk from Russian President Vladimir Putin. The letter was read out at the opening ceremony by Deputy Culture Minister of Russia Yelena Milovzorova on 10 July, BelTA has learned.
“The festival has a glorious history and great traditions. It started out as a celebration of Slavic art and over the years has greatly expanded its geographical borders: this year the hospitable Vitebsk welcomes participants from nearly 30 countries. It is important that the Slavonic Bazaar contributes to the spiritual unity of peoples, promotes mutual enrichment of cultures, and strengthens friendship and personal contacts. It helps bring to life innovative and creative ideas and projects in the field of humanitarian cooperation,” the President of Russia noted in his welcoming address.
President Vladimir Putin also expressed confidence that this year's festival will be bright and spectacular, will be remembered for the extensive program and interesting meetings. Vladimir Putin wished the participants and spectators of the festival creative successes and unforgettable experiences.
