MOSCOW, 2 April (BelTA) – Further integration will promote wellbeing of the peoples of Belarus and Russia, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said in his Unity Day greetings to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 2 April.

Vladimir Putin stressed that “resting on fine traditions of the past and solid ties of friendship, cultural and spiritual commonality that unites the people of the two states, Russia and Belarus have been successfully enhancing mutually beneficial all-round cooperation and constructive partnership in the international arena.”

Taking note of the positive results of the meeting of the Union State Supreme State Council in Saint Petersburg on 15 March, Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that further development of integration processes would promote the wellbeing of the Russian and Belarusian people and would create opportunities for the development of the Eurasian Economic Union.
