Makei: Belarus truly interested in dialogue with EU, France

MINSK, 3 December (BelTA) - Belarus is truly interested in building the dialogue with the EU and France, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said as he met with Chairman of the France-Belarus friendship group Gerald Darmanin in Minsk on 3 December, BelTA has learnt.

Welcoming the French parliamentary group, the minister stressed that Belarus has not hosted such a parliamentary delegation for several years. “We are fully aware of the role played by France in the European and world politics. We are interested in good and friendly relations with France as a member of the European Union, and on a bilateral basis,” he said.

“MPs are always open and willing to engage in dialogue, and your visit is a serious step in the bilateral Belarusian-French cooperation,” Vladimir Makei said. The minister wished the French MPs constructive negotiations and successful visit.

A delegation of the National Assembly of the French Republic headed by the Chairman of the France-Belarus friendship group is in Belarus on a visit on 2-6 December.
