Lukashenko sends Belarusian Science Day greetings

MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) - President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to Belarusian scientists as the country celebrates the Belarusian Science Day and the 85th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.

“Science creates a solid intellectual foundation of the Belarusian state, determines our progress. The entire nation is proud of our renowned scientists and their achievements,” the message of greetings reads.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that over the years the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus which is a flagship of Belarusian science has turned into the largest research center in the country. It conducts both fundamental and advanced research and is respected all over the world.

“Today the Belarusian science needs to occupy a leading position in strategic avenues of innovative development, to match the research and inventions with everyday needs of the economy and make sure that the results of the research be used in practice. I am convinced that our scientists will successfully cope with these important and responsible tasks,” the head of state believes.
