Lukashenko: Belarus is ready to accommodate migrants from Ukraine

BORISOV, 24 June (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to accommodate migrants from Ukraine in an orderly manner and give them housing and jobs, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with representatives of the labor collectives of the enterprises of the defense sector, BelTA has learned.

The head of state was asked whether there are people wishing to move to Belarus from Ukraine and whether there are employment opportunities for them. "There are people wishing to move to Belarus. And quite a few. We immediately instructed the Embassy to make up such lists so that it would not be chaotic as it is happening now in Russia (there are already big problems in the camps of displaced persons and refugees). We cannot shun away and must not: people are suffering,” said the Belarusian leader.

"We are ready to accommodate such people. We need workers. And we are ready to accommodate them in different parts of our country, give them housing and a place to work,” added Alexander Lukashenko.
