Lukashenko: Belarus has become stronger, wiser and is ready to respond to any challenges

MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko extended congratulations to compatriots on the country’s main holiday – the Independence Day of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.

“This important date in the historical calendar of our country symbolizes the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. Exactly 70 years ago, we defended the peaceful future of the Motherland and we must preserve this priceless legacy for future generations,” says the greeting.

The President drew attention to the fact that there were many obstacles and ordeals on the road to independence. "Thanks to the dedicated work and help of the fraternal Soviet peoples, we restored the country from the ruins, gained the right to determine our own future and took a worthy place in the international community. Over the years we have become stronger, wiser and are ready to respond to any modern challenges,” the President noted.

"On this big day I wish you good health, happiness and fruitful work for the good of the beloved Motherland. Let peace and prosperity reign in your homes!” Alexander Lukashenko said.
