Kazarovets: The Union State needs to make use of Belarus’ experience of rapid R&D commercialization

MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian experience in prompt manufacturing application of its scientific achievements should be taken into account in the implementation of the Union State programs, Deputy Chairman of the commission for social policy, science, culture, and humanitarian issues of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the permanent commission for education, science, culture and social development of the Council of the Republic Nikolai Kazarovets told BelTA.

According to the senator, the Union State MPs are preparing recommendations for the Union State Council of Ministers. The proposals are aimed, first of all, at enhancing the efficiency of the implementation of scientific programs in the union State. “In the integration of science and production we should take into account the experience of our country, develop it,” Nikolai Kazarovets noted citing as a good example the cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences and the agrarian sector of Belarus. “Thanks to the rapid commercialization of R&D products, we have made good headway in the development of technology in cultivation of corn, sugar beets. We have made advances in livestock, poultry. On the one hand, manufacturers are modernizing their enterprises, on the other hand, o scientists contribute a lot to the development of modern technology,” the MP said.

Among the proposals to be sent to the Union State Parliament is the one to extend the authorities of the Parliamentary Assembly, in particular the commission on social policy, science, culture, and humanitarian issues. "The members of the commission have enough experience to consider programs and projects, to recommend them to the Government," explained Nikolai Kazarovets.

The Union State MPs are confident that this will help speed up the process of formation and approval of programs and projects through the reduction of time of coordination and review, underlined the Belarusian senator.
