Kazakhstan suggests developing new vision for CIS future

MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – Kazakhstan proposes to develop a new vision for the CIS development, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of States in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Next year Kazakhstan takes over the CIS Chairmanship from Belarus. "We will continue, in the order of succession, the work in this regard. Maybe we will consult with the heads of state and agree on a new concept of the CIS development, how we will continue to work,” said Nursultan Nazarbayev. The President added that the document could be prepared for the 25th anniversary of the CIS, which will be celebrated in 2016.

The President of Kazakhstan noted that the CIS will continue to develop trade and economic relations, the free trade area, cooperation in transit transport, agriculture and food security. “Our Chairmanship covers these issues and also the issues in the field of humanitarian cooperation.
