Katerinich: MTZ needs a new product for South-East Asian market

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) – Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) needs to design a new product for the South-East Asian market, Industry Minister of Belarus Dmitry Katerinich said as he presented new head Fyodor Domotenko to the company’s personnel on 11 August, BelTA has learned.

“Many companies are going through difficult times because of the loss of the Ukrainian market and a difficult situation on our main market in Russia. In order to rectify the situation we need to revise the product lineup: develop a new product for new markets,” the minister said.

Dmitry Katerinich explained reporters the need to develop a new product: “We are poorly presented in the regions where the world’s general population live, i.e. in South-East Asia. We do not have a good product to produce and cultivate such crop as rice. That is why MTZ need a brand new tractor.”

According to the Industry Minister, Minsk Tractor Works should put more emphasis on the African market. “This country also needs a non-European-level product. The product should be simple and of good quality. We should think what we can offer them. MTZ has already been conducting the corresponding works,” Dmitry Katerinich said.
