MINSK, 8 December (BelTA) - Despite the difficult foreign economic conditions, the draft budget for 2015 has been made balanced, Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Viktor Guminsky said after the meeting of the permanent commission on budget and finance, BelTA has learned.
The draft budget for 2015 is based on the socio-economic development forecast and monetary policy guidelines that take into account the difficult foreign economic conditions. "The important thing is that the budget is balanced, despite the complexity of the situation," said Viktor Guminsky.
He pointed out that despite the external circumstances the budget remains socially oriented. Public expenditures on health and education were increased from 14.2% to 14.8% and from 17.3% and 18.1% respectively.
While working on the draft budget, the lawmakers made about 20 proposals, and more than half of them made it to the draft law. Viktor Guminsky urged MPs who have questions take advantage of the opportunity and address them to the relevant commissions and the ministries.
The Parliament is expected to have the first reading of the draft law on the national budget for 2015 this week.
