Chinese Ambassador: Belarus, China are boosting political contacts

Chinese Ambassador: Belarus, China are boosting political contacts

MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – Belarus and China are strengthening political contacts and practical cooperation in all the fields, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus Cui Qiming said at an event timed to the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China, BelTA has learned.

The diplomat believes that this year has been very fruitful for the Belarus-China cooperation. He assured that China “strictly abides by the agreements on promoting all-round strategic partnership reached by President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko”.

Cui Qiming reminded about the Minsk visit of Zhang Gaoli, First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. He believes that the visit was important and successful, as the parties came up with new cooperation vectors. Belarus and China are set to promote key projects together, like the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park and the production of cars.

According to Cui Qiming, Belarus and China are making quite good progress in the humanitarian field. For example, in September Belarus and China signed a memorandum on the establishment of cultural centers. 200 Belarusian children from the regions affected by the Chernobyl disaster visited China upon the invitation of Xi Jinping in August 2014.

“At present the China-Belarus all-round strategic partnership has been developing very rapidly; the bilateral relations are entering a new stage. This is the result of the efforts of the leaders of the two countries, the governments and the peoples of China and Belarus,” the diplomat said.
