Cemil Cicek: Parliaments work hard to boost Belarus-Turkey relations

Cemil Cicek: Parliaments work hard to boost Belarus-Turkey relations

MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – The parliaments of Belarus and Turkey exert efforts for further friendly development of bilateral relations, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Cemil Cicek told media as the Turkish parliamentary delegation arrived in Belarus on 20 November, BelTA has learnt.

According to Cemil Cicek, Belarus and Turkey enjoy friendly relations and the parliaments of the two countries try hard to give them further development. In his words, the visit of the Turkish parliamentary delegation to Belarus will contribute to it. “I am confident it will be a fruitful visit,” the Speaker of the Turkish parliament said.

Turkey was the first country to recognize Belarus’ sovereignty, Cemil Cicek said. He stressed that Belarus is an important country for Turkey.

The Turkish parliamentary delegation is in Belarus on an official visit until 21 November. The Turkish Speaker is expected to hold talks with Chairman of the Council of the Republic Anatoly Rubinov and Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko as well as with Belarusian Premier Mikhail Myasnikovich and Chairman of the Constitutional Court Piotr Miklashevich. It is expected that a protocol on cooperation will be signed between the National Assembly of the republic of Belarus and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
