Belarusians and Russians advised to live by their wits

Belarusians and Russians advised to live by their wits

MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – Belarusians and Russians must live by their wits rather than rely on America, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the meeting with the members of the public, representatives of the Belarusian and foreign mass media on 3 February, BelTA has learned.

“We need to build our life together with Russian people. We should focus on ourselves, not America,” Alexander Lukashenko believes.

The head of state said that he discussed with the Russian leadership the election of Donald Trump to the post of president of the United States, who came to power with the slogan “Make America Great Again”. “We need to understand that the United States president is pro-American, not pro-Russian or pro-Belarusian. He is not as unskilled as some think. He just lacks some experience,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The head of state noted that however strong Donald Trump might be, he will still be unable to change the world order dramatically. From the standpoint of economy, globalization is a trend that will live for centuries. “No one will be able to turn it around,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
