Belarus interested in Mozambique’s proposal to set up joint ventures

Belarus interested in Mozambique’s proposal to set up joint ventures

MINSK, 22 July (BelTA) – Belarus will carefully consider Mozambique’s proposal to set up joint ventures in mechanical engineering and agriculture, Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with Prime Minister of Mozambique Alberto Vaquina in Minsk on 22 July, BelTA has learnt.

“We uphold the proposal to establish joint ventures, first of all, in mechanical engineering and agriculture,” the Belarusian head of government said. Belarus might also train highly qualified personnel for these companies. Cooperation in science and technology is also on the agenda. “Besides, we are ready to consider providing financial solutions alongside with goods delivery in order to make the bilateral cooperation in trade and economy and joint investment projects even more attractive,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said. Belarus and Mozambique have agreed on the partners – commercial banks – that will come up with financial solutions designed to support export and joint projects.

Speaking about possible cooperation projects Mikhail Myasnikovich said that the two countries could cooperate in the mining industry. “We are ready to consider concessions and outsourcing in the development of coal deposits and deposits of other mineral resources,” he said. Belarus can offer the necessary financial solutions in order to implement these projects. This might as well include export loans. “There are no forbidden themes between us, we are ready to discuss all kinds of cooperation proposals,” the Premier noted.

Alberto Vaquina added: “We have 14 years of diplomatic relations and these relations have reached a very high level recently. We hope that our countries have everything they need to advance the bilateral cooperation into an even higher level”.
