Belarus calls upon Ukraine’s political forces to stop bloodshed

MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – Belarus calls upon Ukraine’s political forces to stop bloodshed and take real steps towards building up a national dialogue. All the parties to the conflict should realize their fullest responsibility for the future of Ukraine and, leaving aside ambitions, should sit down at the negotiating table, the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus says in respect to the recent developments in Ukraine, BelTA learnt.

“Belarus is deeply concerned over the recent events in Ukraine. Political escalation has led to the armed clashes in a number of the country’s regions,” the statement runs.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the recent tragic events in Odessa which resulted in numerous human casualties raise major concerns. “We offer our deepest condolences to the relatives and loved ones of those killed,” the statement says.

“We call upon all the political forces of Ukraine to stop immediately this bloodshed and take real steps towards a national dialogue. All the parties to the conflict should realize their fullest responsibility for the future of Ukraine and, leaving aside ambitions, should sit down at the negotiating table. We express hope for the prompt peaceful regulation of the crisis in Ukraine with the observance of the rights and interests of the citizens of the country,” the Foreign Ministry of Belarus stressed.
