Arab billionaire sees huge potential in investment projects in Belarus

MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – Belarus has a huge potential in investment projects, Mr Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, head of Al Habtoor Group, UAE, told media after his meeting with Belarusian Premier Mikhail Myasnikovich on 16 October.

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor was happy with the results of his visit to Belarus. “I am impressed with the country’s investment climate and believe that Belarus has a huge potential in numerous investment projects,” he stressed.

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor is confident that the Belarusian nation itself plays an important role in it as people in Belarus are very active and hardworking. “I am sure that a lot of projects will be implemented in cooperation with Al Habtoor Group as well as other investors from the UAE,” the Arab businessman emphasized.

The meeting with Belarusian PM Mikhail Myasnikovich was very productive. The sides discussed implementation of many investment projects.

The Arab investor named hotel business, construction of offices and housing as the most attractive projects for investing. Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor also thinks of constructing cultural objects in the country, for example theaters.

Al Habtoor Group has versatile business interests, including civil engineering, hotel business, car sales, real estate, education, insurance, and publishing. The group employs over 40,000 people. Al Habtoor Group’s civil engineering division is a major developer in the Middle East. Al Habtoor Group vigorously invests in foreign markets. It implements major projects in the USA, the UK, France, Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar, and Egypt. After its merger with the Australian company Leighton Group Al Habtoor Group expanded its business interests to include power engineering, road construction, petrochemistry, and the extraction of natural resources. Al Habtoor Group is headed by UAE businessman Mr Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor. He is also the President of Dubai National Insurance Company and a member of the Dubai Economic Council.
